The Life of Ply is the enterprise bit of a well-established Social Enterprise, We Make Places CIC.
Working with disenfranchised groups including young people classed as Neets, special needs
groups and asylum seekers, I head up the learning programme, develop and run the handcrafting skills and resilience workshops. Using offcuts from our kitchen and product
manufacturing process, or repurposing existing products, groups engage in a programme
concluding with the gifting to community groups. The fitting out process creates the opportunity
for meeting new people and taking responsibility for the siting or application of the gifts.
